The Alliance for Community Media is grateful to Chairman José Serrano (House Appropriations Subcommittee on Financial Services and General Government) for his leadership today in calling on the FCC to make sure that PEG access channels are not left behind or prejudiced in the digital era.  Chairman Serrano pointed to the promise of the Cable Act and its provision of PEG access channels as compensation to communities for granting cable operators use of their rights-of-way.  The Alliance needs for FCC Chairman Genachowski to make actionable his response that the Commission has the a

Paul Braun, Long-time PEG Access Advocate, Passes

Paul Braun, a cable television pioneer who served on the Board of the National Federation of Local Cable Programmers from 1984-1986 and as the organization's Treasurer between 1985-1986, died after a short illness on Monday, March 15 (Multichannel News).  His wife Susan is asking that memorial contributions in his name be made to the Alliance for Community Media.

Pittsburgh is more a interesting and beautiful city than one might think. When one thinks of Pitsburgh, most think of the collapsed rust belt. There is so much more to this city built with beautiful bridges over converging rivers, stately skyscrapers, east coast style neighborhoods partially surrounded by steep cliffs.
