In this intricately networked web world, the role of community media centers is a work in progress. What are the key ingredients to be a relevant and sustainable community resource? This initial series of podcasts share best practices and advice for community media center advocates, managers, staff, producers and volunteers.

Featuring interviews with key leaders in the field who share their expertise and perspective, you can tune into access pioneer George Stoney, ACM Executive Director Helen Soule and long-time access advocate Sue Buske. More interviews will be produced along with a new series of training programs this fall.

You can visit the page for each person and either listen to the full interview or to particular clips.

The interviews were conducted by Elliot Margolies (elliotspark@yahoo.com) in conjunction with CCTV’s Center for Community Media and Grand Rapids Community Media Center. The series was made possible with support from The Surdna Foundation, Media and Democracy Fund and the Media Justice Fund.
