Cable group forms to offer public access

Acton Cable Access Television (ACAT) will soon broadcast to town.  Selectman Mike Gowing said the independent and nonprofit ACAT has been recently incorporated to run public access TV after the town’s current 10-year contract with Comcast expires June 2010.

Gowing, who serves as liaison to the Cable Advisory Committee, said ACAT’s overall goal to provide more community use.  “I hope to increase local programming and make it more Acton driven,” Gowing said. “Public programming does not have much in way of local programming.”  [ more ]
